James White’s story is uniquely American—one of struggle, redemption, and purpose. Born in LaGrange and raised in Newnan and Southside Atlanta, James grew up in a tough community that too often failed young Black men. At 17, he left school and entered a system that pushes far too many down the school-to-prison pipeline.

But James never gave up.

After incarceration, James rebuilt his life from the ground up. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and valedictorian from Benedict College, a proud HBCU. He then earned his law degree from The Ohio State University. Returning home, he made history—becoming the first formerly incarcerated person in America to become a prosecutor, thanks to a groundbreaking opportunity from Fulton County Solicitor General Keith E. Gammage.

James has walked a path most politicians can’t imagine. That’s why he knows: you don’t build safer neighborhoods by arresting your way there—you do it with compassion, prevention, and opportunity.

Now, he’s running to represent Atlanta’s District 2 on City Council—not for power or politics, but because our community deserves better. He’s tired of the potholes, unsafe streets, and broken city response systems. James will fight for real solutions—because he’s been fighting all his life.

This campaign isn’t backed by developers or big donors. It’s grassroots, built by neighbors, workers, and everyday people who believe in something better. James won’t disappear after the election. He’s a hands-on leader who will show up, stand up, and speak out—even when it’s hard.
